DISCIPLESHIP
SPIRITUAL FORMATION STUDIES
Scripture as your primary resource
• Select a book of the Bible or section of Scripture to read through everyday.
• Use a journal to record things God teaches you so that you can share them with each other
when you get together.
• Try the Bible study method of
• Observation (asking who, what, why, when, how type questions)
• Interpretation (what was the author saying to his readers)
• Application (how does this apply to me today/what is God saying to you personally).
Discuss what you read and what you will do with it:
• What stood out the most to you? Why?
• What was unclear or difficult for you? Questions?
• What is something you learned?
• What is at least one practical way you can put what you learned into practice (in your
thinking or in your behavior)?
